The purpose of this visa is to promote the Australian economy and effectively target high net worth individuals seeking to invest in immigration。Immigrant investors must put 500

$10,000 invested in eligible investments for at least 4 years to be eligible to apply for a permanent visa。

When the significant Investor visa policy will be implemented?

§ This visa policy is scheduled to take effect on November 24, 2012。

Is there any quota limit for the new significant Investor visa?

§否。However, there is always a risk that quotas will be capped or that the terms of the new visa programme will be changed, suspended or cancelled。

How long is the temporary visa valid?

§4 years, renewable twice for 2 years each, for a total of 8 years。

2.What is the purpose of applying for a temporary Significant Investor Visa?

All prospective immigrants interested in applying for a temporary Significant Investor visa must submit an "Expression of Interest" through SkillSelect.

(Expression of Interest,EOI) and be nominated by the state or territory government in order to receive an invitation to submit a visa application。

SkillSelect is an online service that allows skilled workers and business people interested in migrating to Australia to record their details through an "expression of interest" for the Australian government to consider granting them a skilled visa。

§ For more information about SkillSelect, see:www.immi.gov.au/skills/skillselect

How to apply?

If you have been nominated for a state or territory Significant Investor visa through SkillSelect and you meet the other mandatory criteria, you will receive an invitation to submit a Significant Investor Visa application。

In view of the anticipated high demand for visas, applicants are advised to submit visa applications as soon as possible after receiving the invitation to prevent significant processing delays。You have up to 60 days to submit your visa application using the Department of Immigration and Citizenship's electronic Submission system。

How do I provide supporting documents?

§ If you are invited to apply for a temporary Significant Investor visa, you will need to provide additional supporting documents to your immigration agent, who will validate the documents and send them directly to the processing centre。This document must be provided at the same time as the visa application。

How do Australian states or territories nominate applicants?

If your expression of interest enters SkillSelect, it will be reviewed and the state or territory government can decide whether to nominate you for a visa。 If a particular Australian state or territory nominates me, then can I relocate to another state or territory?

§ If a state or territory nominates you for a temporary Significant Investor visa, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship and the state or territory government nominating you will expect that you genuinely want to settle in their territory。

If the state or territory government does not nominate me for a significant Investor visa, what options do I have?

Business Innovation and Investment programs are programs nominated by state and territory governments。You must be nominated by a state or territory government to apply for a significant Investor visa。

When you need to invest?

§ The invested funds must be deposited into a designated trust account no later than the time of submission of the visa application to the Australian Government。

Will my funds be safe until my visa is approved?

§ The funds are kept safe in a trust account with an Australian bank, the rules of which state that the funds will only be transferred if the visa is approved, and if the visa is denied, the funds will be returned to the investor。And in both cases (visa approval or denial), the interest earned on the funds is returned to the investor。

What is the Australian government application fee?

§ A basic fee of AUD 4,065 is payable when you submit your visa application。

§ Please note that a surcharge may apply if the applicant does not speak working English (see "Visa Requirements" section for details)。However, investors do not need to speak English or take an English test to obtain a significant Investor visa。

How long it takes the Australian government to process an application?

Do I need to pass an English test?

§ There is no English test and no language threshold for applicants。However, all applicants who cannot demonstrate working English 1 ability and any dependents over the age of 18 must pay an additional visa application fee。

§ Under current conditions, the application process will ask if the applicant has a command of "practical" English。However, they have the option of paying a one-off fee of $8,520 for the main applicant and $4,250 for each dependant under the age of 18 included in the application。This fee paid allows the investor to attend an English language course that the investor may not wish to attend。
